Can you believe we made it this far? This last week of build out was so packed and amazingly productive. There were ups and downs, but looking back all that matters is that we made it! We had a goal to soft open for a friends and family night at the end of the week, but still had to finish last minute things. Some built out and decor, then getting our occupancy licenses and food/beverage license based on final inspections from the city. Everything came together the day before, and it was a huge milestone and load off our shoulders. We. made. it to SONDER Build Out Week 10!!! Here are some moments for you all:
SONDER Build Out Week 10
It felt so good to get everything passed and signed, head over to the office and get our OCCUPANCY PERMIT!!! Those final inspections were so nerve-wracking… we were praying like crazy! They say the final ones are the hardest, but they went smoother for us than any other ones actually. Maybe it’s because of the changes we had to make in the previous inspections…
I didn’t enjoy my time as a construction worker, haha. Part of it’s because I don’t totally prefer chaotic, messy things. I couldn’t wait for everything to be done and clean — I was so excited to stock and organize! I actually couldn’t even sleep because I was thinking of where everything should go… and then I couldn’t sleep because I was worried I’d walk in one day and the shelves would be gone and everything would broken on the floor, and possibly an employee too… but that’s besides the point.
My friend Abby helped plant each of our plants and succulents, she did such a cute job!! At first I figured I’d put them directly into the pots as below… but she took the care and time to make them SO much better. I love her =]
Just the green touch of life SONDER needs.
My good friend Deb who’s been helping me with design consulting elements set everything in the right place.
We got our first batch of coffee from Corvus Coffee Roasters! This is good stuff right here!
And we set up our kombucha on tap from Happy Leaf!
Then we had an official milk training from Doug at Corvus here in our shop.
Crazy right? Here we are, all set up and ready to go.
Where do I even start? I’m short of words, caught up in the whirlwind, ecstatic that we made it to our goal. And even so, the journey has hardly begun! I’ll continue to write the continuing adventure here on Dream|a|Latte. It means so much for all of you to follow along, and if you’re in the Denver area, I’d love for you to stop by! It’s now time to celebrate with a Grand Opening!
