As I was looking through my timehop this morning, I realized it was exactly two years ago that we were in Mozambique! I thought I’d share some pictures from Nascer Do Sol, a beautiful retreat center where we helped with a kids camp for a few WorldVenture families. We also stayed in Maputo, and got to see a little bit of city life looks like, but I notice I take less pictures when I’m around people, and rather get caught up in the moments and conversations. We met amazing people, and this was such a breathtaking place to spend some of our time together.
These beaches were so beautiful, hidden behind vast sand dunes down to rich red sands, that in low-tide almost looked like another planet.
It was such a special time to share a couple weeks of their lives, hear the stories, and see what it looks like to move from all you know and start a new, purposeful journey in another culture and country. One couple we met actually helped inspire our desire to pursue starting a coffee shop. They invited us to join them in starting one on Mozambique Island, so partly throughout my research and planning, I have had it in the back of my mind that it was always an option to still visit and help with whatever information we gathered here! As of now, they’ve opened the doors of a lovely cafe called Rickshaws, and I still can’t wait to visit! Mozambique was one of our most memorable trips, and we often have it in mind, wondering when we’ll be able to go back again.
